Game Overview

Naname de Magic! is this weirdly addictive arcade puzzle game that feels like Tetris got into a bar fight with an RPG. You play as Frain, trying to rescue Light Elena from the Dark Guru—who, naturally, has brainwashed her into fighting for him. The setup’s cheesy in the best way.

Gameplay’s simple at first: match three elemental blocks (fire, water, etc.) to attack your opponent. But here’s the twist—diagonal matches hit harder, and chaining combos together turns your screen into a fireworks show of cascading attacks. There’s something deeply satisfying about setting off a diagonal chain and watching your opponent’s side suddenly flood with junk blocks.

Little power-ups keep things chaotic. Match hourglasses to slow your own blocks’ fall (a lifesaver when you’re cornered), or hit three exclamation marks to wipe a chunk of your screen clean. Versus mode gets brutal fast—friends will yell at you. Story mode’s got that old-school charm with elemental wizards as bosses, though honestly, I just kept replaying 2-player because trash-talking mid-match never gets old.

It’s the kind of game where you swear you’ll stop after “one more round,” and then it’s 2 AM.
