Naname de Magic! came out in arcades in 2020, developed by Magic Studios. It's a puzzle game from a time when arcades were already a niche, but it found its crowd by doing something simple and clever. You don't see many new arcade puzzle games, so it stood out just by being there.

You control a wizard at the bottom of the screen, sliding colored blocks diagonally to match them and attack enemies above. The main goal is to clear stages by defeating all the monsters before your screen fills up. The key mechanics are the diagonal movement, which feels different from most block sliders, and setting up chain reactions where one match causes others to explode. The pacing is fast; you're constantly assessing angles to set off the biggest combos. It feels satisfying to watch a cascade of blocks disappear and see your attacks overwhelm the enemy. The whole thing has a nice, tactile rhythm once you get into it.
