Game Overview

Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge is Capcom's sequel to the original Darkstalkers, and it cranks up the weirdness in the best way possible. You pick from a roster of monsters—vampires, werewolves, even a literal sasquatch—and throw down in these gorgeous, eerie stages that feel like they’re straight out of a gothic cartoon. Morrigan’s still here, of course, but newcomers like Donovan (half-vampire with a sword) and Pyron (an alien made of fire) keep things unpredictable.

The moves are flashy, the animations are over-the-top, and the whole thing just oozes style. I spent way too long trying to figure out Hsien-Ko’s zombie-hop attacks before realizing I should probably just stick to Felicia’s claws. It’s one of those fighters where even losing looks cool—like when Bishamon’s sword slashes send sparks flying across the screen. If you’re into 90s arcade fighters with personality, this one’s a blast.
