Game Overview

PC Pool Challenges was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a compilation that bundled several titles from the early PC gaming era. The game was developed by Cosmi and published in the early 1990s, a time when digital recreations of real-world sports were still finding their footing on home computers. It offered a straightforward take on billiards, focusing on the basics of the game without much flair or graphical ambition.

You control the cue stick, positioning it around the table to take shots in either eight-ball or nine-ball matches. The main objective is to pocket all your assigned balls and then sink the eight ball to win. Signature mechanics include adjusting shot power with a simple meter and carefully calculating angles for banks and combinations; there is no spin or English on the ball, so every shot relies on pure geometry. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the physics can feel unpredictable, leading to moments of frustration when easy shots rattle out and elation when a wild carom finds its mark. It feels like a quiet, sometimes finicky game of patience and guesswork.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
