Pinball for the NES came out in 1985, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of the earlier titles for the system, a straightforward digital take on a familiar arcade experience. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; it just offers a solid, no-frills pinball table on your television.

You control the two flippers at the bottom of the screen, trying to keep the ball in play for as long as possible. The main goal is to score points by hitting bumpers and targets, with a special bonus stage that appears when you send the ball up the right chute. In this stage, you control Mario himself, bouncing on a platform to break targets and rescue Pauline. The physics feel a bit floaty compared to real pinball, and the game can be surprisingly difficult to master. It's a simple, sometimes frustrating, but always charming little time capsule.
