Pinball (VS) is exactly what it sounds like—a straightforward NES pinball game, but with a weird twist. The table splits into two levels, so when you lose the ball, it drops to the lower floor instead of ending your turn immediately. It’s a small mercy, but it helps.

The physics feel a little stiff, like the ball has more weight than it should, but you get used to it. The real surprise is the Mario bonus stage—you control him directly, bouncing the ball upward to rescue Pauline. It’s a weird but fun little break from the main game.

For an early NES title, Pinball (VS) holds up okay, though it’s definitely barebones compared to later pinball games. The two-level table keeps things interesting, at least.
