Game Overview

If you ever wanted to actually be Ash Ketchum—like, not just play a Pokémon trainer, but live out those early anime episodes with the chunky pixels and tinny Game Boy Advance soundtrack—this fan-made gem is basically a time machine. You start in Pallet Town (of course), get handed a Pikachu that refuses its pokéball (also of course), and suddenly you're battling Misty at the Cerulean Gym while Brock heckles you from the sidelines.

The battles feel straight out of FireRed, but with little surprises—like Team Rocket actually using their anime-tier ridiculous schemes instead of just lurking in tall grass. And yeah, you’ll run into Charizard throwing tantrums or Snorlax blocking routes, just like the show. It’s janky in that nostalgic "someone made this with pure passion" way, but that’s half the charm. I may or may not have spent an hour trying to recreate Ash’s Pidgeotto vs. Fearow showdown from episode one.

Definitely scratches that itch if you’ve ever yelled "THUNDERBOLT!" at a tiny screen.
