Game Overview
Pokémon HeartGold is basically the Gold/Silver remakes we all wanted—but better. You start in Johto like the old days, but now your Pokémon actually follow behind you (Pikachu’s little sprint never gets old). The pixel art got a glow-up, and the touchscreen menus make tossing Poké Balls or checking stats way smoother.
First thing you’ll notice? That Pokéwalker accessory (if you’ve got it) lets you level up your team by just walking around IRL. Kinda wild for a DS game. Battles feel snappier, and the gym leaders hit harder than you remember—Whitney’s Miltank still ruins lives. Also, Red’s post-game fight? Absolute nightmare fuel in the best way.
It’s got that perfect mix of nostalgia and quality-of-life tweaks, like reusable TMs and faster EXP gains. If you missed Gen 2 or just want to relive it with less grinding, this is the version to play.
