Pokemon Evolve came out for the Game Boy Advance, though I don't recall who made it. It was one of those experimental fan projects that floated around during the GBA's later years, trying something different with the formula.
You control a trainer, but the goal isn't just to collect badges; it's to guide your Pokemon through unstable, unexpected transformations. Your team evolves based on how you battle, not just by leveling up. Using certain moves or winning under specific conditions can trigger a change, sometimes into entirely new forms not seen in the official games. It's less about a linear journey and more about adapting to whatever your Pokemon become next, which keeps you constantly adjusting your strategy. Figuring out how to steer those evolutions makes every playthrough feel like a fresh experiment.
