Pokémon Hyetology is one of those fan-made GBA hacks that actually gets it right—it feels like stumbling onto a lost Pokémon game you somehow missed as a kid. The second you start, you’ll notice the weather actually matters: rain doesn’t just look pretty, it turns battles into this chaotic mess where your Water-type suddenly hits like a truck. And yeah, there are new Pokémon designs (some weird, some brilliant), but they fit right in with the classics.

What hooked me was how alive the world feels. Walk into a thunderstorm, and you might find rare Electric-types lurking where they shouldn’t be. The beta’s still rough around the edges—a few dialogue quirks here, a weird sprite there—but it’s got way more personality than most ROM hacks.
