Game Overview

Pokémon Identity (Beta) is one of those fan-made GBA hacks that actually feels different—not just another reskin of the original games. Right from the start, you get this eerie vibe, like something’s off in the Pokémon world you thought you knew. The usual "pick a starter, fight gyms" routine gets twisted with shady NPCs who remember your choices, and yeah, even your Pokémon might not be what they seem.

The reputation system’s a neat touch. Act like a jerk in battles, and suddenly trainers avoid you or throw harder fights your way. I picked the water starter (looked innocent enough), but halfway through the beta, it started learning moves it shouldn’t have. No spoilers, but don’t trust the Pokédex entries here.

It’s still rough around the edges—beta quirks like occasional dialogue glitches—but the mystery hooks you fast. If you’ve played a dozen Pokémon romhacks and want one that actually messes with your expectations, this is worth booting up on an emulator.
