Pokémon Lightning Yellow feels like someone took your old Game Boy cartridge, polished it up just enough, and slipped in a few surprises. It's still the same Kanto adventure—Pikachu following you, Brock's gym waiting to wreck your poor Butterfree—but now with GBA colors that make Viridian Forest actually look green instead of murky gray. The battles run smoother, some moves got rebalanced (thank god for that), and I swear I ran into a Pokémon I didn't recognize near Mt. Moon.

It's not perfect—sometimes the text boxes glitch, and I got stuck behind a tree once—but that's part of the charm with fan projects like this. If you've played Yellow a dozen times but want it to feel slightly new again, this does the trick without messing with what worked. Just save often unless you enjoy losing to Misty all over again.
