A couple of its signature mechanics include a day and night cycle that affects which species appear, and special field moves your Pokemon can learn to clear environmental obstacles like fallen logs or thin ice. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty feels well balanced, offering a solid challenge without excessive grinding. It feels like returning to a comfortable, familiar place with just enough new surprises to keep things interesting.
