You control a young trainer who begins with an unconventional partner, a poison and electric type rodent, instead of the traditional starter trio. Your goal is to complete the regional Pokedex and defeat the Elite Four, but the journey is complicated by a rival who studies your battle style and adjusts their team dynamically to counter your strategies. Exploration is screen by screen, with some areas requiring specific HM moves or puzzle solutions to access hidden Pokemon. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially during major trainer battles. It feels like navigating a world that is both familiar and deliberately, sometimes awkwardly, reshaped.
