Pokemon Plants vs. Zombies GBA is one of those weird mashups that somehow works. You start with a row of grass patches, planting Bulbasaur and Oddish like turrets while zombies shamble toward them. The first few waves feel easy, but then you realize you're juggling sun points to summon stronger Pokemon while the horde gets faster.

I remember thinking I had it under control until a buckethead zombie showed up, tanking hits while the rest broke through. Had to scramble to drop a Charmander in the back row last second. The pixel art is rough but charming, with little details like Pikachu's tail sparking when it attacks.

It's simple at first, but the strategy gets deeper once you unlock more Pokemon types and zombie variants. Pokemon Plants vs. Zombies GBA isn't polished, but it's oddly satisfying once you get into the rhythm.
