Pokemon Saffron was a Game Boy Advance title released in 1970, though that date seems unusual for the platform. You control a young trainer navigating Saffron City and its surrounding routes, catching wild Pokémon and battling other trainers to strengthen your team. Your main goal is to earn the Marsh Badge by defeating Sabrina, the Gym Leader. Signature mechanics include screen by screen exploration, turn based combat using your Pokémon's moves, and managing your party's health and items between fights. The pacing is deliberate, with occasional difficulty spikes from strong opponent teams. It feels like slowly building a capable group of partners through patience and strategy.
