Pokemon Super Heart Red is a GBA rom that feels like a polished version of the classic. The early game is familiar - you pick your starter, fight some trainers, and slowly build your team. But there are little tweaks that make it stand out, like the expanded roster of Pokemon you can catch early on.

I remember wandering into a patch of grass near Viridian City and finding a Ralts, which normally isn't available until much later. That kind of surprise makes exploring rewarding. The difficulty curve is steeper than the original too - gym leaders actually put up a fight now.

Some of the new areas feel a bit tacked on, but overall Pokemon Super Heart Red keeps what worked while adding just enough to feel fresh.
