Pokemon Trozei! came out for the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed by Genius Sonority. It was part of that early wave of DS puzzle games, a time when touch controls were still fresh and developers were figuring out what the system could really do. It didn't have the sprawling adventure of the main series games; instead, it offered something quicker, more focused on fast thinking and reflexes.

You control a cursor on the lower screen, sliding rows or columns of Pokemon icons to match three or more of the same type. The goal is to clear the board screen by screen, capturing every Pokemon before time runs out or the board fills up. Key mechanics include chaining combos for higher scores and using special Trozei Chance phases to clear large sections at once. The pacing starts deceptively simple but quickly becomes frantic as new Pokemon pour in from the top, demanding quick decisions and pattern recognition. It feels like a race against your own focus, where one good combo can save you and a moment of hesitation means starting over.
