Game Overview

Professional Tennis Simulator was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, released in 1990 by developer Distinctive Software. It arrived during a period when sports simulations were becoming more common on home computers, offering a straightforward take on tennis without the graphical flair of later titles.

You control a simple, blocky sprite representing a tennis player, moving them with the keyboard to return shots from an AI opponent. The main objective is to win matches by outscoring your rival in sets, relying on careful positioning and timing to place your shots. Key mechanics include adjusting the angle of your returns based on your movement and anticipating the computer's increasingly aggressive play as matches progress. The game starts deceptively easy but quickly demands sharp reflexes and strategic shot placement to avoid being overwhelmed. It feels like a pure test of concentration, where the minimal presentation forces you to focus entirely on the rhythm of each rally.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
