Game Overview

Project S-11 is one of those classic GBC shooters where you’re basically humanity’s last hope against an alien invasion. You pilot this experimental fighter through waves of weird alien ships—some look like floating jellyfish, others are just angry triangles with guns. The first few levels ease you in, but by mission 3, you’re dodging so much neon bullet spam that your thumbs start cramping.

What I like is how the aliens actually change tactics. Early enemies just rush you, but later they’ll flank or even fake retreats. There’s this one boss that splits into smaller ships mid-fight, which was a nasty surprise the first time. The pixel art’s simple but sharp—lots of purples and cyans that pop on the GBC screen.

It’s tough, but not unfair. You get three continues, and memorizing attack patterns actually helps instead of feeling cheap. Just don’t expect to beat the alien homeworld on your first try.
