Play Ray the Flying Squirrel in Sonic the Hedgehog Online
Glide through levels, dodge enemies, collect rings, and explore with Ray the Flying Squirrel in this 1993 Sega Genesis platformer.

Ray the Flying Squirrel is a character from the 1993 Sega Genesis game Sonic the Hedgehog, developed and published by Sega. He appeared in the title Sonic the Hedgehog 3, though not as a playable character in the main release; he was part of a planned expansion that eventually became Sonic & Knuckles. The Genesis was at its peak then, with platformers pushing hardware limits and experimenting with new mechanics.
In the game, you control Ray as he glides through levels using his large, stretchy patagium. The main objective is to navigate side scrolling stages, avoiding enemies and environmental hazards while collecting rings. Ray's signature ability is his gliding, which lets him catch air currents and cover large horizontal distances; he can also climb certain walls and cling to surfaces briefly. The pacing is methodical compared to Sonic's speed, focusing more on precision and exploration than outright velocity. It feels deliberate and slightly experimental, like controlling a character built for cautious traversal in a world designed for dash and flash.
