Game Overview

Redhook's Revenge came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by a small team whose name escapes me now. It was one of those pirate-themed adventures that felt right at home on a floppy disk, back when games didn't need flashy graphics to pull you in for hours.

You control a pirate captain, managing your ship and crew while hunting for treasure across a grid-based map. The main goal is to find and assemble pieces of a legendary treasure map, all while keeping your crew fed and your ship afloat. Key mechanics include turn-based naval combat, resource management (like food and gold), and random events that can either help or ruin your day, such as storms or mutinies. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, and the difficulty can spike without warning, especially when supplies run low. It feels like a tense, unpredictable voyage where every decision carries weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
