Game Overview

Man, Redhooks Revenge takes me back. You start off with nothing but a leaky dinghy and a grudge against Captain Redhook—which, honestly, is all any self-respecting pirate needs. Within minutes, you're either getting scammed by shady merchants in port or accidentally picking fights with ships three times your size. (Pro tip: run from the big ones until you've got more cannons.)

The pixel art somehow makes the ocean feel huge, even when you're just staring at a tiny ship bobbing on a CRT monitor. And those sea shanties? Still stuck in my head decades later. What I love is how chaotic it gets—one minute you're carefully plotting trade routes, the next you're desperately boarding some merchant vessel because you spent all your gold on rum. Classic.

Finding Redhook takes forever, but when you finally spot his stupid red sails on the horizon? Pure adrenaline. Just don't get too cocky—he fights dirty. This game deserved way more attention than it got back in the day.
