Return of Double Dragon is one of those classic SNES beat-'em-ups that feels a little rough around the edges but still has that satisfying punch-and-kick rhythm. You play as Billy or Jimmy (or both if you've got a buddy), smashing through waves of the Shadow Warrior gang—expect a lot of leather jackets and questionable haircuts.
The controls take a second to click—some moves feel stiff at first, but once you get the timing down for throws and combos, it’s weirdly addictive. The soundtrack’s got that gritty arcade vibe, and the levels throw everything at you, from back-alley brawls to rooftop chases. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—enemies love to swarm you if you’re not careful.
It’s not the prettiest or smoothest in the genre, but there’s something about the chaos that keeps me coming back when I’m in the mood for something old-school and loud.
