Return of Double Dragon on SNES is one of those beat-'em-ups that just feels right—like the arcade cabinet you’d dump quarters into as a kid, but with way more moves up your sleeve. You pick between the Lee brothers (or Marian if you’ve got the Japanese cart), and suddenly you’re knee-deep in thugs, pulling off combos, blocks, and suplexes that actually require a bit of timing. It’s slower than, say, Final Fight, but that just means every punch lands with weight.
The pixel art’s got that grimy ‘90s city vibe—back alleys, neon signs, dudes in leather vests—and the soundtrack’s all crunchy bass and snare hits. Play it solo for the challenge, or grab a friend for the classic co-op chaos where you’ll inevitably elbow each other as much as the enemies. Not gonna lie, the first time I pulled off a spinning kick into a grapple, I felt like a martial arts movie hero. Still holds up.
