You control either Billy or Jimmy Lee, moving from left to right through city streets and enemy hideouts, fighting thugs with punches, kicks, and grapples. The main goal is to rescue Marian from the Shadow Warriors, battling through stages that include a prison and a helicopter assault. Signature mechanics include picking up weapons like knives and whips from defeated enemies, and performing special moves such as the cyclone kick or a well-timed throw. The pacing is deliberate, with frequent enemy encounters that demand careful spacing; the difficulty is noticeable, especially in later stages where enemies attack in greater numbers. It feels solid and responsive when your attacks connect, though some movements can be a little stiff.
