Game Overview

Rise of the Triad: Dark War is one of those gloriously chaotic shooters from the MS-DOS era where subtlety goes out the window in the first five minutes. You're part of a UN strike team dropped onto an island crawling with cultists—and of course, your ride home gets blown up immediately. Now you're blasting through monks, dodging fireballs, and uncovering a plot to wipe out LA. Classic '90s stakes.

The guns feel chunky, the movement’s weirdly floaty (in a fun way), and there’s this absurd arsenal—like a bazooka that sends enemies ragdolling into the distance. The levels are packed with secret rooms and traps, and half the time you’re just laughing at how over-the-top it all is. Fun fact: it was originally supposed to be Wolfenstein 3D II, and you can still spot the leftover Nazi influences in some enemy designs.

If you miss when shooters were fast, loud, and didn’t take themselves seriously, this one’s a riot.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
