Rol Crusaders came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Digital Dreams Multimedia. It was one of those mid-90s action titles that felt right at home on a clunky desktop, relying on pixel art and straightforward mechanics rather than flashy effects or complex stories.

You control a templar knight exploring a series of interconnected dungeons, screen by screen. Your main goal is to recover the stolen Ark of the Covenant by fighting through waves of cultists and supernatural enemies using a sword and occasional projectile weapons. The combat is methodical; each swing has a brief cooldown, so positioning and timing matter more than button mashing. You also hunt for keys to unlock doors and search for health-restoring items in a maze-like structure that rewards careful exploration. The game can be punishing if you rush into new areas unprepared, but clearing a room of foes delivers a tangible sense of progress. It feels like a tense, deliberate crawl through dark corridors where every encounter demands your attention.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
