Game Overview

Sea Rogue came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Microplay Software. It was a product of its time, fitting right in with the era's mix of simulation and adventure titles that asked players to learn complex systems and think on their feet. You don't see many games like it anymore, which makes it a curious piece of early 90s PC gaming.

You play as a treasure hunter, managing a salvage boat and diving into the ocean to explore shipwrecks. Your main goal is to recover valuable artifacts while competing against a rival hunter who often gets in your way. Key mechanics include carefully managing your oxygen supply during dives, using a metal detector to locate buried items, and fending off sea creatures with a spear gun. The pacing is deliberate, even tense, as you weigh the risk of staying down longer against the reward of grabbing one more piece of treasure. It feels like a race against your own limits as much as against your opponent.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
