Dodge TIE fighters in tight canyons, speed through Endor’s trees on a bike, then fumble through Hoth’s snow—it’s like hopping between Star Wars scenes mid-battle. Sometimes the controls fight you, but blasting Star Destroyers never gets old.

Game Overview

If you ever wanted to feel like you're actually in the Star Wars movies, Rebel Strike on GameCube gets pretty close. You start off in the cockpit of an X-wing, lasers blazing, and suddenly you're right there in those iconic battles—dodging TIE fighters over the Death Star trench, speeding through Endor's forests on a bike, even awkwardly stumbling around Hoth as a snowspeeder pilot (those controls take some getting used to).

What’s cool is how it mixes space dogfights with ground missions—one minute you’re blasting Star Destroyers, the next you’re on foot taking down AT-STs. The vehicle switching isn’t always smooth, but when it works, it feels like you’re flipping between scenes from the movies. And yeah, the whole second game (Rogue Squadron II) is tucked inside with co-op, which is a nice bonus if you’ve got a friend who’s equally obsessed with Star Wars.

Just don’t expect deep storytelling—it’s mostly about reliving those big action moments with some janky but fun ground combat thrown in. The multiplayer modes are chaotic in the best way, especially if you’ve got a second controller and a sibling to argue with about who gets to be Luke.
