If you've ever wanted to slash through feudal Japan with ridiculous, over-the-top attacks, Sengoku Basara: Battle Heroes on PSP delivers exactly that. It takes the crazy energy of the console games and squeezes it into your pocket—complete with all 30 warriors from the series, each with their own flashy moves and fully-voiced banter.

The real fun is in the 2v2 battles, where you and a buddy (or AI partner) can team up against another pair. The Basara gauge fills as you fight, letting you unleash those signature screen-clearing specials at just the right moment. It gets chaotic fast, especially with four players going at it via ad hoc multiplayer.

When you're not brawling with friends, the Mission mode throws 150 challenges at you—some teach the basics, others will test your reflexes with brutal conditions. I spent way too long trying to perfect my Date Masamune combos just to clear the harder ones.

It's not the deepest fighter, but if you want a portable game where samurai backflip over cannonfire and shout attack names like it's an anime, this nails it.
