Konami released Shadow of Destiny for the PlayStation Portable in 2009, a port of an earlier console title that found a natural home on the handheld. You control Eike, a man murdered in a quiet German town, who is given a device to travel briefly through time to prevent his death. The gameplay involves exploring the town screen by screen, talking to residents, and using items from different time periods to alter events. There is no combat; the challenge comes from solving environmental puzzles and making choices under time pressure, with each failed attempt sending you back to relive the day. It feels like untangling a knot, where every pulled thread reveals another layer of consequence.
