Game Overview

Shadow Warrior is that ridiculous, over-the-top FPS from the '90s where you play as Lo Wang—a wisecracking ninja mercenary with a serious attitude problem. Right off the bat, you're slicing dudes in half with a katana, chucking shurikens, and occasionally blowing stuff up with a sticky bomb (which, by the way, was way ahead of its time). The levels are packed with secret areas, weird puzzles, and enemies dumb enough to charge at a guy dual-wielding Uzis while yelling one-liners.

What makes it stand out from other Build engine games is how unapologetically silly it is. You can rip out an enemy’s still-beating heart and throw it at another guy. There are drivable tanks, climbable ladders, and turrets you can hijack—stuff most shooters didn’t even think about back then. The railgun is stupidly fun, mostly because Lo Wang won’t shut up about erasing people when you pick it up.

It’s janky, loud, and occasionally frustrating, but that’s part of the charm. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro shooters that don’t take themselves seriously, this one’s a riot.
