Skate It on the DS is one of those games that actually makes the stylus feel natural—you flick it to ollie, drag for grinds, and twist to pull off flip tricks. At first, it’s a little awkward, but after a few wipeouts, you start nailing lines like you’re holding an actual board.

San Vanelona’s got this weird, half-abandoned vibe with empty pools and construction sites just begging to be skated. You can even rearrange ramps and rails if a spot feels off. The sponsorships and pro skaters give it that old-school Tony Hawk vibe, minus the ridiculous plotlines.

Just a heads-up: the online servers are long gone, but the career mode and spot editor still make it worth tossing in your DS for a quick session. Thrasher Mag’s Skater of the Year won’t crown itself.
