Playing Sonic Advance 2 (EU) on the GBA feels like a proper follow-up to the first one, but with a bit more speed and chaos. The first thing you notice is how much faster Sonic moves—it's easy to overshoot platforms if you're not careful. The levels are designed to push that speed, with loops and ramps everywhere.
Unlocking the other characters is a grind since you have to beat the game as Sonic first. Tails and Knuckles handle differently, but Cream the rabbit is the real surprise—her double jump makes some sections way easier. The special rings hidden in each stage are tricky to find, and the bonus stages for Chaos Emeralds feel like a mix of luck and reflexes.
One thing that sticks out is how the game looks—bright colors, smooth animations, and some clever sprite work make it one of the better-looking GBA titles. The link cable feature with the GameCube is neat if you have both, but it's not essential. Sonic Advance 2 (EU) holds up as a solid portable Sonic game, even if the character unlock system feels a little restrictive.
