Space Commanders II is the kind of MS-DOS game that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go. You’re piloting a tiny, outgunned starship against swarms of aliens, and every pixel on screen is trying to kill you. The controls are sharp—no floaty movement here—but one wrong move and you’re space dust.

It’s tougher than the first game, no question. The bosses show up earlier, hit harder, and laugh at your pitiful attempts to dodge. But that’s the magic of it—you’ll fail a dozen times, then suddenly pull off a perfect run, weaving through lasers like some kind of keyboard-wielding space ninja. The sound effects alone are pure nostalgia: that tinny explosion noise, the rapid-fire pew-pew of your blaster.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
