Game Overview

Space Invaders on Game Boy is basically the same classic arcade shooter you remember—except now you can take it with you. You’re still lining up shots under that creepy descending alien swarm, trying to pick them off before they reach the bottom. The controls are stupid simple (left, right, fire), but that doesn’t stop me from panicking when the music speeds up and those pixelated jerks start dropping bombs.

It’s wild how well this holds up. The screen’s tiny, sure, but the tension’s still there—especially when you’re down to your last life and there’s one alien left zigzagging just out of reach. I still mutter “oh come on” every time I lose to the same game my dad played in arcades. Classic for a reason.
