Play Space Invaders EX Online

Space Invaders EX came out on Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Taito. It was a time when classic arcade games were getting polished re-releases on handhelds, and this one fit right in with its bright, sharp visuals and familiar but expanded gameplay.

You control a small laser cannon at the bottom of the screen, moving left and right to avoid enemy fire while shooting rows of descending aliens. The main goal is to clear each wave before they reach the bottom or you run out of lives. Signature mechanics include chaining combos by destroying multiple aliens in quick succession, and collecting power-ups that upgrade your shot or grant temporary shields. The pacing is fast, with later stages introducing invaders that split apart or change formation suddenly. It feels tense and satisfying when you thread a path through the bullets and wipe out a whole column with one well-placed shot.
