Play Spider-Man 2 (EU) Online

Swiping between buildings feels surprisingly good for a DS game—until you fumble a dodge and faceplant into a taxi. Doc Ock’s fights are way more intense than they have any right to be on this tiny screen.

Game Overview

Spider-Man 2 on the DS is one of those games that makes you forget how tiny the screen is—at least until your hands cramp up. You start off swinging through a surprisingly decent rendition of New York, and yeah, the physics are a little janky, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about nailing a perfect web-sling between buildings. Combat’s basic but punchy, and the boss fights (looking at you, Doc Ock) actually feel like they belong in a bigger game.

It’s not perfect—some of the side missions get repetitive fast, and the DS controls can be finicky when you’re trying to pull off a quick dodge. But for a handheld Spidey fix? It holds up better than you’d expect. Just don’t blame me when you accidentally yeet yourself into traffic for the tenth time.
