Game Overview

Star Fox on the SNES was my first real taste of "3D" gaming—those chunky polygons felt like magic back then. You hop into Fox's Arwing, and suddenly you're weaving through floating rocks while Peppy yells obvious-but-endearing advice at you. The controls are surprisingly smooth once you get the hang of banking and rolling (yes, you'll hear that barrel roll line a lot).

What sticks with me is how alive it feels—your squad chatters during missions, bosses fill the screen in this weird, angular grandeur, and the music somehow makes blasting robot bugs feel heroic. It's janky by today's standards, but in a way that just adds to its personality. I still hum the Corneria theme sometimes.

If you've only played newer Star Fox games, this one's a must—it's where the attitude, the tight shooting, and even Slippy being accidentally annoying all began.
