Game Overview

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron on PSP is basically the portable version of that chaotic, large-scale Star Wars warfare we love—just with a few twists. You pick a side (Rebels, Empire, Republic, or CIS) and jump into massive battles where heroes like Han Solo or Darth Vader can turn the tide. The Galactic Conquest mode feels like a proper war, where winning a planet means choosing where to strike next—until someone’s homeworld falls.

The campaign’s a neat little side story about a secret rebel squad formed after Yavin, told through comic-style cutscenes. You’ll play as grunts and commanders, doing everything from holding positions to escorting Leia. Oh, and space battles are back—nothing like dogfighting in an X-Wing one minute, then boarding an enemy Star Destroyer the next.

They overhauled the class system, so now you tweak your soldier’s loadout before each fight. Want a sniper with a jetpack? Go for it. Online multiplayer’s a blast too, with 16-player battles if you’ve got Wi-Fi. Just don’t expect to find many lobbies these days.

It’s messy, loud, and exactly what you’d want from a handheld Battlefront game.
