Game Overview

Star Wars Episode II: The Battle Rages On was a Game Boy Color release from 2002, developed by Helixe and published by THQ. It arrived late in the handheld's life, a time when many players were already looking toward the Game Boy Advance, but it offered a solid, action-focused take on the prequel era. You control Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker across a series of missions tied directly to the film's events.

You guide your Jedi through side-scrolling levels, slashing battle droids with your lightsaber and deflecting blaster bolts back at them. The main goal is to clear each stage of enemies and occasionally face a boss like Jango Fett. Two mechanics stand out: you can switch between characters on the fly to use their unique abilities, and certain sections put you on a speeder bike for high-velocity chases. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike when enemies fill the screen. It feels like a brisk, sometimes messy, but always energetic arcade brawler with a Star Wars skin.
