Game Overview
Street Racer on SNES is pure chaos in the best way possible. You pick from these weirdly charming racers (my favorite’s the guy in the cowboy hat, no idea why he’s racing) and then it’s just bumper cars at 100mph. The tracks have these ridiculous shortcuts—sometimes you’ll accidentally backflip off a ramp and land ahead of everyone.
What’s wild is how it handles 8 players without completely falling apart. Sure, the frame rate chugs when everyone’s piled up in a corner, but that just makes the pileups funnier. And the weapons? Throwing bananas feels classic, but wait till you unlock the boxing glove punch. Totally unnecessary. Totally great.
It’s one of those games where you’ll finish a race and immediately want to rematch because someone definitely cheated. The beta tag’s still there, but honestly, the jank is part of the charm.
