Play Street Rod SE Online

You start with a beat-up car, hunt for parts in classifieds, and actually install them yourself—screw up the timing and it won’t even start. Races are tense duels where every worn-out part and empty gas tank reminds you this isn’t some arcade racer.

Game Overview

Street Rod SE is a 2014 re-release of the original MS-DOS game, part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection. It was originally developed by California Dreams and published by Logic Artists. The game belongs to the late 80s and early 90s era of PC gaming, when simulation and customization were beginning to find their place alongside more straightforward action titles.

You control a young driver aiming to build the fastest car and dominate the street racing scene. The main objective is to earn money, buy better parts, and win races to gain reputation. Key mechanics include browsing newspaper classifieds for parts, manually installing and tuning components (like adjusting carburetors or setting ignition timing), and engaging in one-on-one drag races. The pacing is deliberate, with a focus on resource management and mechanical know-how rather than speed. It feels like a hands-on project where every decision, from part purchases to race strategy, carries real weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
