Game Overview

Sub Mission was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled several titles from the platform's early years. Developed by Cosmi and published in the late 1980s, it fits squarely into that era of experimental, often unforgiving, simulation and strategy hybrids. The game doesn't try to be flashy; it's a straightforward, tense dive into underwater warfare.

You control a submarine, navigating a grid-based map from a top-down perspective. Your main objective is to hunt down and destroy an enemy sub before it does the same to you. The core mechanics involve careful management of your limited oxygen supply, active use of sonar to locate the enemy (which also reveals your own position), and firing torpedoes that travel slowly across the screen. The pacing is methodical, almost slow, but the tension is constant because a single mistake is usually fatal. It feels like a high-stakes game of blind chess played in the deep sea.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
