The Super Game Boy was an adapter cartridge released in 1994 that allowed people to play Game Boy games on their SNES. The cartridge had the same hardware as a Game Boy, so the SNES was only used for user input, output graphics to the screen, and adding color to the black and white games (although is some cases the colors were really ugly).
