Super Monkey Ball 2 is one of those games that looks simple until you tilt the control stick just a little too hard and watch your monkey in a ball go flying off the edge. You’re basically rolling these little guys through obstacle courses—some are straightforward, others feel like they were designed by someone who really hates monkeys. The physics are weirdly satisfying, though, especially when you nail a tricky turn.

Story mode’s the chill way to play—no lives, just you and the stages until you beat them. Every 10 levels, you get a goofy cutscene and a new world with even more ridiculous courses. Challenge mode? That’s where things get mean. Limited lives, a timer, and some levels that’ll make you question your life choices. And if you just want to mess around, practice mode lets you replay anything you’ve already unlocked.

But honestly, the party games are where it shines with friends. Monkey bowling is exactly what it sounds like (chaos), monkey tennis gets way too competitive, and monkey fight… well, let’s just say it brings out the worst in people. There’s a whole bunch of them, and they’re all stupid fun with a group. Just don’t throw your controller when someone bumps you off the course.
