Super Nova came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Taito. It was part of that wave of shooters that really pushed the hardware, with big sprites and a lot of on-screen chaos. It fit right in with other intense games of the era, demanding quick reflexes and a good memory for enemy patterns.

You pilot one of three selectable ships, each with a unique primary weapon and a screen-clearing bomb. The goal is to survive through six stages, destroying everything in your path while collecting red power-up orbs to enhance your firepower. Key mechanics include switching your shot's direction with the L and R buttons to hit enemies approaching from behind, and managing a shield that can absorb a few hits before you lose a life.
