Super Tom and Jerry came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, published by Hi Tech Expressions. It was part of that wave of early SNES titles that tried to capture the energy of cartoons with straightforward platforming action. You control either Tom or Jerry, each with their own abilities. Tom is stronger and can set traps, while Jerry is quicker and can slip into small openings. The goal is to navigate side-scrolling levels, collecting items like cheese or milk while avoiding the other character's attacks. You jump between platforms, dodge anvils and mousetraps, and use items found in the environment to temporarily stun your opponent. The levels are fairly short but can be surprisingly tricky, demanding quick reflexes to avoid sudden pitfalls or projectiles. It feels exactly like controlling a frantic, interactive episode of the show.
