Game Overview

Temple of Kroz came out in 1989 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Apogee Software. It was one of those early shareware titles that felt right at home on a monochrome monitor, relying on simple text characters to build its world. You knew what you were getting into with these games: no fancy graphics, just straightforward exploration and a lot of trial and error.

You control a little @ symbol, moving screen by screen through a sprawling dungeon. Your goal is to find the exit on each level, but it's never that simple. You swing your sword (a forward-facing slash) to fend off snakes and other creatures, all while avoiding instant death pits and collecting keys to open doors. The pacing is relentless; every new room could hide a threat or a trap, and there's no room for hesitation. It feels tense and unforgiving, a true test of patience and careful movement.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
