Terminator on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1993, published by Mindscape. It was part of that wave of movie tie-ins that tried to capture the film's atmosphere with the hardware available at the time. You play as Kyle Reese, sent back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor from the T-800.

You control Reese through side-scrolling levels, moving screen by screen through the urban environments from the film. Your main objective is to find Sarah before the Terminator does, which involves navigating the city, entering buildings, and gathering keycards and weapons. The combat relies on a limited arsenal; you use pistols, shotguns, and explosives against human enemies and, eventually, the unstoppable machine itself. The pacing is tense, with the Terminator appearing unexpectedly to chase you, and the difficulty is punishing, demanding precise movement and resource management. It feels like a desperate race against a clock that is actively trying to kill you.
