Test Drive: Cycles came out for the Game Boy Color in 1999, published by Accolade. It was part of that wave of portable racing games that tried to squeeze a little more speed and style out of the hardware. You got a sense of freedom from it, even on that small screen.

You control a rider on a sport bike, racing through city streets against traffic. The main goal is to win tournaments, earn cash, and upgrade your motorcycle with better parts. Signature mechanics include weaving through dense traffic, using nitro boosts for short bursts of speed, and occasionally dealing with police cars that try to ram you off the road. The pacing is fast, and the traffic patterns keep you alert; one wrong move can wreck your bike and end the race. It feels tense and a little chaotic, especially when you're trying to time that nitro just right between buses and oncoming cars.
